Q. Can I borrow books for personal reading, or is the library just for academic materials?

Although many of the books owned by CMU Libraries are intended for academic study, we also have books for personal reading.
CMU Libraries has a "Browsing Collection" of popular and recent fiction and nonfiction. It's located on the library's 2nd floor, near the Library Services Desk. It can also be browsed online (link below).
Additional fiction is available in the main library collection. Search in Smart Search by author name or book title to see what is available.
